CEP's Directors have extensive experience in community regeneration, organisational governance, funding management and high-level project delivery and they are passionately committed to the production of sustainable energy. Peter Davies CBE (Chair) Peter Davies is the former Commissioner for Sustainable Futures and was instrumental in the development of the new Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015. Peter is the former Chair of Wales Council for Voluntary Action and holds the following Board roles: • Chair – Dwr Cymru Welsh Water Customer Challenge Group • Chair and co-Founder – Size of Wales • Chair – Teach First Cymru Advisory Board Trustee – Foundation for Democracy and Sustainable Development He is also Professor of Practice - University of Wales Trinity St David and provides consultancy support to Welsh Government on rural and marine issues. Twitter: @pdpartnership Ruth Lovell Ruth is the Coordinator for Tirweddau Cymru Landscapes Wales, a partnership of the five AONBs and three National Parks in Wales. In her previous role Ruth was Marketing and Communications Manager for Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum, which oversees Marine Energy Wales. Prior to that she was Research Communications Advisor at Cardiff University, working with the School of Geography and Planning and the Sustainable Places Research Institute. Ruth has worked in the field of environmental policy and campaigning for over fifteen years, including with RSPB Cymru as Policy Advocate, with the National Trust, as Environment and Land-use Policy Officer. She also managed the set up of the RSPB Cymru landscape scale conservation project in Carmarthenshire, and has spent time working on international conservation projects, in Kenya, Tanzania and Greenland. Twitter: @ruthlovell Roxanne Treacy Prior to going freelance as a Research and Funding consultant specialising in rural regeneration, she ran a successful national conservation company before working for Local Government in the field of European & External funding. She divides her time between CEP, her consultancy business Redford Research and her work with Co-production Network for Wales as their Co-director. Roxanne was a mentor for the pan-Wales programmes Renew Wales and Enterprising Solutions and is a Town Councillor in Laugharne. She is also a former Director of Carmarthenshire Energy Ltd, a Community Benefit Society that recently built a £1.5m renewable energy project - a 500kw wind turbine - following a successful community share offer and is currently training with Community Shares Wales to become a licenced Share Offer Practitioner. Twitter: @roxannetreacy Jane O'Brien Jane is a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and has an engineering Masters in Energy Management and Conservation. Having worked in the sector for 30 years, Jane has extensive experience of sustainable development, funding delivery and management, and partnership working. In North Wales, she worked collaboratively with Welsh partners to set up an independent Energy Efficiency Advice Centre (EEAC) and in the Northwest developed a large charity - Energy Projects Plus - serving 3 counties with 3 advice centres. Managed technical team developing projects with regional renewable energy forums, consisting of public and private sector partners Jane has successfully developed, managed and implemented energy efficiency , Climate Change and carbon reduction schemes on behalf of: local authorities, housing trusts, health care sector, fire service, utilities and consortiums. Successfully developed and managed 9 HecAction award schemes (£3.5 million), with several consortiums and individual authorities. Other funding partnership work includes the Innovation programme, and European funded programmes, She is currently runs her own successful eco-tourism business in Boncath (www.eco-camping.co.uk) and is a Co-ordinator for Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire on the Renew Wales programme. Luke Stanley Luke is a Managing Director of Altus Financial Planning and provides wealth management advice and financial planning services to clients across West, South and Mid Wales. Paul Cowley Paul Cowley is a mechanical engineer with a Masters degree in Energy Conservation and Management. He has twenty- five years professional experience of the renewable energy sector, with particular emphasis on industry development, technical and financial analyses for solar photovoltaic systems (PV). Paul is also a qualified electrician and experienced solar systems designer and installer. In 2013 Paul established the solar operations unit, Solar-Technics, within the family business, Cowley Electrical Ltd, directly supervising on-site installations and system commissioning. Prior to this, he was one of the founders of Bristol- based solar company Your Power Ltd in 2010, before which he spent fifteen years with the international renewable energy firm, IT Power Ltd. He founded IT Power's presence in Sydney Australia in 2003 and built a successful branch of the company there before returning to the UK in 2008 ostensibly to manage SEI, the installation services business unit within IT Power Group of Companies. In his role as energy consultant, Paul undertook a diverse array of projects and field missions, including Technical Advisory missions for the World Bank Group, notably in relation to development of a Sustainable Energy Finance Programme for various Pacific Islands. In Australia he was seconded from IT Power to the New South Wales Department for Energy Utilities and Sustainability where he was Acting Solar Program Manager. He undertook reviews of several major Federal Australian government PV programmes and provided expert consultancy support for the early development of the national PV industry roadmaps in UK and Australia. Paul was involved with the International Energy Agency’s Photovoltaic Power Systems programme between 1995 and 2010, representing both the UK and Australia. Pembrokeshire PioneersAt our recent AGM we celebrated the work of the 'Pembrokeshire Pioneers' - those who have worked tirelessly to raise awareness and develop community energy projects.
