Connecting coastal community energy
While local and community benefit models are well-established for other renewable technologies, offshore wind presents unique challenges in this space: what constitutes “the local community” attached to an offshore wind development can be tricky to unpack, while different stakeholders have different policies and requirements for local communities, meaning that current rules around local and community benefit and ownership in offshore wind are unclear and complex.
CEP will work with existing community energy groups in the county and with partners, including Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum (PCF), Marine Energy Wales (MEW) and their members, Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC), and Community Councils to map out and develop a plan for communities around the county to engage with the emerging marine energy sector that is growing in the county.

- Develop a network including community members, developers and marine users to encourage community involvement in the marine energy sector
- Deliver a Feasibility Study including: Potential models of community marine energy ownership + Potential models of community benefit with regard to marine energy
