LEAF - Local Energy Action Force
The Local Energy Action Force (LEAF) was an innovative pilot project to help communities generate and trade sustainable energy. CEP worked with five communities across Pembrokeshire over two years, supporting them to develop community energy projects.
The Local Energy Action Force Project Officers delivered a programme of events to help raise awareness and develop skills in community energy development. The Local Energy Action Force developed five projects in Pembrokeshire, working with volunteers, landowners, business owners and householders, co-ordinating and enabling access to support, skills, knowledge and experience and sharing what was learned. LEAF had a substantial focus on building the capacity of local people in delivering social enterprise led sustainable energy. Therefore a number of delivery partners were identified to design and deliver capacity building days over the life of the project. LEAF also identifies with a number of wider stakeholders. In order to ensure shared learning and joined up thinking with regard to project delivery, CEP established a “LEAF Delivery Partnership” with representatives from the following organisations: PAVS PLANED Pembrokeshire College Swansea Uni - SPECIFIC PLANED PCC Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum Welsh Government Energy Service Tiers Cross Community Council St Davids City Council & Forum Milford Town Council Capacity building events
